I had a guy resurrect my PTP 225 after total weirdness and problems I
couldn't figure out (and I figure MOST of 'em out!)

I had also done numerous low level formats and OS installs. 

I can't tell you exactly what he did, but it's been going fine ever since. 

I don't know where you live but if it's worth shipping it to Massachusetts
to you  (or if you'd feel comfortable with it)...... he charges $50.00 an
hour working out of his house.
