Please any help is appreciated! My original internal CD-ROM (MATSHITA) is having problem reading CD-ROMs; I decided to replace it with a YAMAHA CRW4416 16x4x4. I configure the drive with the same SCSI ID 3; it is terminated because it is at the end of the daisy chain. Now when I boot the computer I get the following message:
"The finder could not start up because there was not enough memory available. To start up, use the CD or floppy disk that came with your computer" Obviously at this point I cannot use the CD driver. I am running OS 8.1, with 1 GB RAM. I have clean up PRAM. I have tried to start up the computer with EXTENSION DISABLED and I get the following message: "Sorry a system error occured. unimplemented trap. restart" I also installed TOAST and extensions for this drive but it does not help. I recall reading somewhere some issues related with replacing the main CD driver on this machine: anybody has an idea or information to share?
