No solutions, but hope:

I run OS 9.1 on PowerTowers (non-Pro) at work and home, and readily had
Internet/network access on both machines, whether on a T1/Ethernet network
at work or a cable modem at home, without any tinkering (just setting basic
TCP/IP control panel settings).

So, broadly speaking, it is quite possible (and likely).
