Actually, the OS was 9.0.4 upgraded (via download) to 9.1. In most cases, broadband ISPs don't want to assign you a "static" (permanent) IP address.
In such cases, you must set your TCP/IP control panel to: -- Connect via: "Ethernet" -- Configure: "Using DHCP Server" As a technical aside: I believe "DHCP" stands for "Doubt He'll Connect Properly." (Actually, DHCP works pretty well.) --Chuck on 3/29/02 7:35 PM, Carl Kreider at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > On Thu, Mar 28, 2002 at 10:05:12PM -0600, Chuck Stinnett wrote: >> on 3/28/02 10:02 PM, Bill Stadler at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: >> >>> Did you ever find a solution to this? >> >> No solutions, but hope: >> >> I run OS 9.1 on PowerTowers (non-Pro) at work and home, and readily had >> Internet/network access on both machines, whether on a T1/Ethernet network >> at work or a cable modem at home, without any tinkering (just setting basic >> TCP/IP control panel settings). >> >> So, broadly speaking, it is quite possible (and likely). > > Well, crap.
