Hi, That is true (that EDO and FPM are interchangeable) for Tsunami/TNT based systems (7300/7500/7600/8500/8600/9500/9600, with 8600/9600 up to 200 and 233MHz respectively), OTOH Catalyst LB (7200/8200 but not 7220/4400, which is based on a different LB and uses 3.3V EDO RAM) systems are FPM only. Buy a 7200 put in EDO RAM and enjoy a fried LB;-)
Systems that use EDO are PowerBase and 5500/6500. I guess, but I only guess, that the PowerCenters and PowerCenterPros which are based on the Catalyst design would behave the same way as the 7200, it may be, though, that PowerComputing changed the specs to allow EDO, but I would not test the possibility on my computer. If you do not believe my statement ask in the PCI Powermacs list and see what they do say or try on your own system, I wouldn't.
