I'm not sure about damage to the mother board, BUT a 64MB EDO Dimm fried, when my grandson put it into an Apple 7200.
As I recall, Guru states "do not install EDO Dimms into an Apple 7200." Should not that also hold true for PowerCom 7200s ???
