Thanks for all your tips on the monitor crash I called a technician recommended by Apple guys, here in MA, he said the bad news was -it s a goner..the magnetic whatchmacallit that surrounds the screen is gone with the symptoms I described. Not worth trying to fix. I ordered another Applevison 850, with 1 yr warraty, and 30 day trial, from a place called TeamExcess on the net for 249 +47. shipping. Free shipping back if it breaks down. I would have ordered from Galaxy,(have gotten several drives there) but didnt realize they had monitors.
I loved that monitor so I am happy to have another one at least for one more year. The flat LCDs I was told by another designer aren't accurate enough yet for precise color, and also are way too expensive for me. But by the time I need another one, the Skinny LCDs probably will be tuned better for color. Also, the ATA internal CD-RW (made for a PC(, I wrote about trying to use it with the Apple or with the PTP 225? I am selling it if anyone wants it....$60, plus shipping. It retailed at 99.99 at Compusa. Que 24/10/40 IDE/ATAPI. with Nero5 burning software., mounting rack and internal connectors.
