I can answer the iPod question but we had a long series of discussions here
not long ago about updating to 9.2.1. It can be done but it requires
applying a patch to the OS 9 installer. I documented the actual sequence of
steps I took to make it happen but most people on this list expressed that
it was much more work than they were willing to go to. If you like I can
forward the instructions to you offline but be warned that this is not for
the feint of heart.
