Just by the specs FireWire is over 30 times faster than USB. FW runs at
400mbps, while USB is 12mbps. Actual in Macs is about 8 for USB and more
like 250-300 for FW. The only FW device I own is an iPod, but it is
incredibly speedy at transferring files, unlike copying pictures from my USB
camera.
