Thanks to Michael and Chuck,
Firstly, I'll bow to Michael's knowledge of the Matrox cards and treat mine
as a worthy backup if my Windows PC's card leaves home at any time in the
future. I didn't cost me so I could never complain.
With regards to the USB card, Chuck must be peeking. It is a Lucent chip on
the card, made by Dolphin, distributed by US Offshore out of Taiwan. I tried
three, all with the same result. However, I evaluated a two port USB PCI
card from the same crowd and it actually works!
(The first thing I checked was the riser seating. Sorry, I failed to mention
that.)
Ah, computers, dontcha love em?
{Ronaldo, take note.}
Cheers People,
Martin
