UI ultimately had success with a PowerBase 180, Sonnet Tango card, OS 
9.1, and the magical chant in the full moon. Thanks to those who gave 
ideas along the way.

The clincher was that you had to install OS 9.1 AFTER putting the 
tango card in so that it would get the drivers in correctly.
