PTPro 180's did have a problem with the SCSI bus/logic boards, so Chuck 
may be right on the money? Power Computing replaced two on mine when it 
was still  under warranty. They evidently fixed the problem, as it's 
been fine ever since. I ran into one of the All Mac tech's at MacWorld 
in SF  last year and he commented that Power Tower Pro's had SCSI 
bus/Logic board problems often enough that they kept new boards in stock 
for them.
