James - I have, in general, had very good experiences with both Virex from Dr. Solomon and Norton System Utilities. They both work in the background. The down sides as I have experienced: Norton seems to slow down my operations as it is possibly more intrusive than Virex. Virex was a great program before it was acquired by Dr. Solomon. As part of Dr. Solomon, it seems to have taken a back seat to PC programs.
