Mr. K: Here is a link to the Power Computing take-apart service manuals. You can download the PDF manual for either the PowerCenter low profile or minitower case:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=50332 You can also download PDF user manuals as well: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=50331 If your case is a minitower, you can certainly add a second CD drive (such as a CD-RW) and a second hard drive. I have a PowerTower that I believe is in the same as the PowerCenter's case, and I have installed one of each. Happily, neither installation required removing the front bezel cover, which is a somewhat involved process. Instead, one need only remove the chassis case, which gives you access to the motherboard (for installing a G3 daughterboard upgrade, if desired), the RAM slots (it's easier to add DIMMs if you remove the bottom of the case, too, which is just four screws) and the expansion slots for new drives. You may need mounting brackets; I visited a friendly PC shop and bought 5 1/4-inch mounting brackets and screws for about $5. Different cases have different requirements; my experience is strictly with PowerTower (non-Pro) and PowerCenter cases. I've sniffed inside a PowerTowerPro case a time or two; they're a bit more involved. But I digress... on 11/17/02 10:21 AM, Mr. Kurtz at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > this may be a bit of a stupid question, but i am feeling just a bit > stupid today. > > anyone know how to get the front off of a Power Center 150? > > just as importantly, is it possible to put a second cd drive and a > second hard drive in it? i don't wanna tear the whole thing down only > to find out i can't do anything with it... > > thanks, > > mr. k -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> --------------------------------------------------------------- >The Think Different Store http://www.ThinkDifferentStore.com ---------------------------------------------------------------
