The internal and external scsi bus are distinct separate buses. You will need termination for both. Both end of each scsi bus must be terminated. The internal scsi bus is already terminated on one end (on the computer) so the last device (physically) on the bus must have termination (and probably also supply termination power.) The external bus requires last device attached externally and last device attached internally be terminated and probably also supply termination power.
In your case, the external zip only terminate the external bus. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patrick McCarthy" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Power Computing List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, January 29, 2003 1:28 PM Subject: Re: SCSI questions : no SCSI issues that I'm aware of. Does the Seagate : come with built in termination? Would the external Zip : drive off the built in SCSI acts as a terminator for : both SCSIs? sorry about all the questions and thanks : for your advice. -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
