I sent them an e-mail and they immediately came back and said they'd RMA it
for me. No questions asked, except for my name, address, product, etc.

The only thing that bothered me was that I paid for 2nd day air to get it
delivered quickly and then it didn't work. That means, for me, that I
wasted that money.

After bringing it up with Sonnett they volunteered to pay for my shipment to
them. They seem pretty reasonable. I would still like to see if I can get
the company I paid the initial shipping fees to to have them reimburse it.
I'll give them the exchange with Sonnett to see if that influences their
decision. For me, it is just a matter of not having received a working
product in the manner for which I paid.

P.S. I held it down for a good 15 to 20 seconds. Needless to say, when it
didn't work, I was very disappointed. I wanted to see my old Power Center
120 running faster. I already have two 2ghz PCs stocked with all sorts of
goodies. This is my chance to play with and learn the Mac more. :)

Why did they give you a 512k g3 500 instead of a g3 500 1m?
