Have no knowledge of Lacie's drivers. My best success has always been 
either Apples own Dish Utility or Intech's Hard Disk Speed Tools.

Assuming you've backed up your important files? No reason it should not 
install. Personally I would use Apple's disk utility to reformat the 
drive into "Appleese" and do a fresh install. The installer will give 
you an alert box if it cannot install.  9.1 should install on your PCP, 
it's the last version of 9 that will.
