Past years on the list, persons have mentioned problems with the PowerComputing cache dims.

Personally, with my Sonnet G3 500MHz, cards and G3 400 Mhz cards; the instructions were to Remove the L2 Dimm as the cache was on the Sonnet Board. Methinks this was also true on my PowerLogix G4 450MHz.

My powerLogix equipped PTP was a crasher with the L2 Dimm installed. But then it was a crasher from the Day I installed the @#$%& thing. It's now dead in the water and in storage; as I've a back log of "Honey Do's" to occupy my time.

Can't hurt to try it, I suppose.

A friend (off-list) also mentioned that re-installing the original L2 cache chip might do the trick, as it did in his case. That'll be on my list of things to try.

I haven't absolutely ruled out a bad RAM chip, although all software checks come up negative.
