I have a Powerbase 240 that will not boot. 

I think I might need a new clock battery or power supply.
It sounds like it's going to start up, and then winds right back down...
It sounds like the hard disk is starting to spin before it quits after
just a second or two...

Any ideas or ways to tell which to check first?

Not sure if you have solved your problem. If you haven't, try to download a
trial version of Intech CD/DVD SpeedTools. (www.intechusa.com) This is the
most universal diver for MacClones that I have found.
