Like the Cat that ate cheese, and sat in front of the mouse hole with 'Baited Breath" ... I await the replies ... I also have the crash problem when rig goes to sleep on this PCP W/500MHz G3.

BTW, That was Plagiarized from Walt Kelly.

If a fair weather friend is close to you only when it's easy, perhaps I'm a
foul weather friend. That is, I'm writing about my dusted-off Power Tower
Pro only because times are hard: my main computer for freelance work is on
its way to Apple for service. That leaves me and the
forced-out-of-retirement PTP to collaborate for a week in meeting client
deadlines.

The good news: (A) Almost everything was backed up. (B) My core apps run
OK in OS9.1 on the PTP. (That's Illy 10, Photoshop 7, PowerPoint [stepping
down to 2001], and Dreamweaver MX, plus Quark 4 and Distiller 5.) It's
actually quite workable.

The one major problem: If I hide an app, there's a fair chance it will
crash. If I sleep the display (the system is set to never sleep) there's a
high probability some app will crash. If no apps are open, the Finder
crashes.

Re the PTP: 640mb RAM. G3 500mhz Sonnet upgrade. Twin Turbo video boards.
FireWire/USB expansion board (lets me access the FireWire back up hard
drive). Sony monitor with a converter to up the resolution.

Any suggestions on cures or workarounds appreciated...
