I just wanted to thank everybody for their help and advice. I put the chip back to the rated speed, and all is running fine. I discovered that the floppy with the cache software on it was bad. :-( I downloaded them from the web, and all is happy now! The computer's happy, the kids are happy to have all that ram and a genuine computer, and Dad's happy (me) because everybody else is happy... Oh, and the computer is no longer crashing... I suspect our problem was a simple lack of ram--32 megs to 136---breathing room at last! Thanks again -- -Jon Glass Krakow, Poland <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> "Remember, democracy never lasts long.
