I've read the archives and found out that some PowerBases didn't recognize memory upgrade because of the need for a 2Kb refresh rate.
So, for my Powerbase 180 I have kept the 32 Mb card in the first slot, tried to put in a new
64MB 168 Pin Mac 5V DIMM 60NS 2K EDO (OWC5MD064MBE)
but the machine doesn't recognize it.
I have a Sonnet G3/300 upgrade, but don't think that would be a problem.
I have hop-scotched the 16Mb and new 64Mb cards between slots 2 and 3 but can only get the maximum of 48 Mb recognized. The 64 Mb doesn't even work alone when in slot 2 or 3 (with the original 32 Mb left in slot 1 of course) but only get the maximum of 32 Mb recognized then.
So I have run out of my own ideas.... so now I am appealing to the Mac community of anyone has solved this one before, or has any suggestions!
(I REALLY miss my RAM Doubler that worked so well for year, but lost it when I upgraded to 9.2.2 to get MSN running again for my MSN Junkie 13 yr. old daughter!)
If I can get one 64 Mb to work, I expect I could get a second working to max. out the machine at 160Mb.
Any help would be appreciated.
