I am having serious problems running OS 9.1 or 9.2 on my Power Tower Pro 225. It runs fine for a few days and then on startup it says something like 'This hard disk won't work with this OS- please upgrade'.
I couldn't find anything online that said I couldn't run OS 9 on this machine. Anybody know that to be a fact? What is the most recent Mac OS to work with this machine?
Do I need to go back to OS 8.6?
Thanks!

OS 9.1 should work fine on your machine. OS 9.2 is the "Classic" app tweaked to not conflict with OS X. OS 9.2 will work if you use a hack but who needs the hassle.
You may need the shareware 'Hard Disk SpeedTools 5.7' for your disk. It is cheaper than HardDisk Tool Kit and all the upgrades are free. Since we don't know what make or vesion it is. Some folks have good luck with the Apple Drivers, but I never have.
Persons will tell you it's a plug and play, snap with OS 9.1, but don't you believe it. Get Extension Overload 5.8.6 it's cheaper than Conflict Catcher and the upgrades are free on it.
It will take a little time but you can get OS 9.1 stable as a rock. IT takes a long time for it to load, but is a great OS. It's my favorite ... and I have another machine eMac with OS 10.2 and 9.2 on it. OSX's fine for playing around, but I use the 9.1 to get something done.
Good Luck,
