I think you are correct about the later OS, but with some software,I found a glitch: Sometimes it doesn't work with restart. You have to shut it down completely and Boot Up with the CD installed with the C key depressed ... or four finger salute. My DiskWarrior CD comes to mind and if I remember correctly, it's the same with TechTool Pro 3.

What OS are you using ? I think it has to do with the OS and not the Mac.
The manual for the PTP says to use the cmmd-opt-shift-delete but OS 8
was the OS at the time. I think the later OS's added the "C" option.

But I could be wrong.....

I'm am glad to see there's some action on the PowerComputing list.

On another note about my favorite computer (PTP 250), I recently
found some PowerComputing machines that came from Disney and
were used by their pre-press dept. at Disneyland in Orlando.

A pretty cool find and they were cheap. I got 2 PTP 225's one complete
and one not complete but works when I tested it with some extra parts I have.
Also included was a PowerWave 604/150 that's not booting for some reason.
That will be another post......

Just out of envy, What did they have in the PCI slots?

I would like to boot from CD and reinstall OS, but altho boot disc
shows on desktop, a restart with C key down does nothing. Should not
this process be the same as in all my Macs?

Nope. To force boot from a CD use the famous "four finger salute". Hold
down: command+option+shift+delete keys while starting up. Using the
"C" key for force boot came along after Power Computing's heyday.
