This is more OS 9.1 than Power Computing specific ... BUT This is a PCP 210 With 400MHz G3 card. It did this before the two USB PCI and the FireWire PCI card was installed. It's done the following for three years:
When booting up, about every third time, the desktop and icons come on GREAT BIG, so large that you can't use the screen.
Since Conflict Catcher 8.3 is installed, all I have to do is hold down the command R keys and it restarts, but this is very aggravating and time consuming. Since it does this so inconsistently, running a conflict test with CC 8.3 is impossible.
Have opened every control panel and preference file possible and can find nothing to cause this ... that I can figure out.
I would hate to waste the time, down loading to a external hard drive and wiping the internal disk, partitioning and reinstalling every thing.
I've two more PCP's and a PTP running OS9.1 and none of them have ever done this ... so it has to be some setting in the software, some errant app that causes this in an erratic manner.
RHB
Errant app ? Sounds like Johhmy Walker Red v4.0 to me...=)
