He's right, no one answered the question about wireless PCI cards.
I'd also like to know about going wireless. Just to file away. At this
time it just brings horrible visions of another gigantic frustrating
conundrum. However, since it is not practical to get a Cable
connection up here to my office, wireless maybe the ticket someday.
ON A PTP with Sonnet G3 500 MHz card ... The questions are below:
1. What OS will work with Wireless? (9.1 or 9.2 I hope) I've OS 10.2 on
my other rig and it's as aggravating as a picture of Bill Gates.
2. What PCI card must one buy for Airport or Wireless?
3. What are the definitions for the various wireless', "FYI, I'm PDQ
on the RSVP & SOL" ... initials headache?

Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the advice, I shall keep my
eyes open for g3
cards on ebay uk. Any real difference between the various makes?

This is all good information, but no one here has answered his (and
my)
question about going wireless with the Mac-which PCI based wireless
cards will work in the Mac, OS X is good enough for me as I am not
much
into 9 these days. Well there was the bit about USB wireless
devices,
but I think I'd prefer a real PCI card versus another box cluttering
up
the desk. Can I buy a Netgear one and have it work?
Thanks

The Sonnet PCI wifi cards will work with OS X as I mentioned in my
first reponse.
Thats the short answer, 'buy a Sonnet.' Here's the long answer:

You can also buy a Belkin or a Motorola card and they will work, they
just have to have the Broadcom chipset. You can also get a driver
from Orange Micro, for $15 which will drive the Atheros chipset based
units, such as later Netgear. I'm sorry I bothered anyone here with
this, next time I'll just google it myself.
