Go ahead and plug 'em in, they're compatible.
If they're from the PowerCenters, they're likely 512k cache dimms - the 1 mB dimms
were in the PowerCenters.
FWIW, cache dimm failure was a leading cause of dead PowerCenter's and
PowerCenterPro's, so when you pull them, try a last boot-up.
If the PCP's work, then the cache dimms are toast.

The above advice bears in mind that if any damage occurs to the mobo of a 7300, 7600, or 8600, any lawsuits will be predicated upon the current $5 market value of the above CPU's, when fully loaded with ram, PCI slots filled with high end SCSI and video cards/PC cards, equipped with a Jazz/Zip drive, after market fast HD('s), mouse & keyboard, and multisync 15" monitor - delivered.

Cheers...Michael

I'm playing with some old Macs I recently got ahold of, and I have two
1MB L2 cache DIMMs from a couple dead Power Computing PowerCenters.
Should these work in a 7300, 7600, or 8600? Anybody know ? I don't
want to find out the hard way that it won't work.

Thanks,

Ron
