I'm playing with some old Macs I recently got ahold of, and I have two 1MB L2 cache DIMMs from a couple dead Power Computing PowerCenters. Should these work in a 7300, 7600, or 8600? Anybody know ? I don't want to find out the hard way that it won't work.
They should work, since the slot specs are the same. However, there seem to be some subtle variations, that could mean that they won't work. Since Power Computing isn't around any more to ask, I imagine that the only way to be certain is to give them a try.
I have some Power Computing VRAM DIMMs which only work in Power Computing machines and 7200s. For some strange reason they cause horrible artifacts in 7500s and 8500s. Go figure.
