I actually have no idea what a backslide cache is so
it's possible I need to do more research on this
matter.
I also don't know how to add anything besides HD and
RAM.
So I will just set them aside until my older sibling
comes to visit. Of course this means I'd love to have
all the stuff purchased by christmas because he
doesn't come and visit often.

There's actually a thrift store place that sells old
computer stuff next town over but I don't know enought
about computers to choose Apple compatible stuff. I
did get one small stick of RAM there for my powerwave,
but I had to get the "computer" guy who is rarly
there to find the right stuff. I now understand more
about what kind of RAM the PW takes but couldn't find
it by looking into a sale box., heck I couldn't find
ANY apple compatible RAM by looking at it.

No kidding and I thought the PTP was the better
model.
I have a slower G3 card, though I can't say what the
PW was running like without it because it was done by
my brother before I had the PW.

I cannot run photoshop on the mini because I would
need to buy a new version that would run on OS X. I
havn't tried either just going on what I've been told.

I think I've had the mini about a month and
half.(Might be too soon to say?). The most demanding
thing I've done is have it run constantly. Then again,
is might be the most demanding thing I do with my
computers anyways...I am a rather low low end user.

I 've been happy with it so far, I have it running
with the most cheapo stuff: free monitor someone gave
me and a gateway keyboard from a used computer store.
I enjoy is how quiet it is compared to my powerwave.

I was looking at either getting a powermac G4 or a
mini. I didn't care for the all in one systems and the
powermac G5 is outta my league.
It came down to one being more expandable then the
other , size and one being currently on the market. I
decided, I don't do much with my computers in the way
of upgrading and for that I'd have a big ole noisey G4
tower. I alreaedy knew I was going to fix up my pismo
so I'd be working on that for a while.

I did locate a website devoted completly to the min,
so might want to look further there:

I'm thinking RAM is the biggest limiting factor here
and I wish I checked that out before, but I was under
the impression this kind of RAM was no longer sold.

Mine has a history of being a working setup for my
older brother, then going to my younger brother a
while and then handed down to me.
As far as I know the worst thing that happened to it
was a failing/ broken graphics card which had to be
removed.
