I am one of minorities having PM performance issues for a quite long time, and got worse after PM5. I have enough RAM. I have enough heap space. swapfile() count usually from 1 to 6 doesn't affect the issue in my observations.
But as I mentioned a couple times before, I do have a theory why it is affecting me much more than others. I used to attach outgoing files from network volumes, and I think PM is refusing to forget them. If I try to rebuild sort indices, highly intermittently, but not always, PM wants to mount missing network drives. I cancel mounting, hoping PM gives them up, but it still comes back even though now I copy files to local before attaching. Oh, wait, I trash them after I send them. PM is still looking for them? Wait. I update HD quite frequently. Bigger drives, different partition sizes, different labels. PM might have been confused, huh? My repeated feature request. PM should have option to not to alias outgoing attachment, please? Pretty please? -- - Hiro [PROTECTED] <[PROTECTED]> <[PROTECTED]>
