FYI, the swedish online help file of Mac OS X Panther 10.3.6 states that this key is called "the alt-key" (here translated from the Swedish "alt- tangenten"). "Alt" is shortform of "Alternative" which is synonymous with "Option", isn't it? So regarding the internationality of Macs I'd regard from recently at least that both "option-key" and "alt-key" should be acceptable in international contexts.
