I assume you don't need to install 4.2 on OSX first - BUT - you will need
an upgrade (registration key) - as I remember 4.2 to 5 was not a freebee
- check into that before going to version 5.

There is NO need to export and then import.

Install PM on OS X and just copy the complete PM Files folder to the new
computer (this is NOT the application folder of PM, it's the one which
contains the message and address database etc.. Putting this complete
folder into the documents folder is probably a good idea. Now launch PM,
the application. It will either tell you it will update the found
database or have you locate the database or just launch with an empty and
new database. In case 3 choose 'switch user' and via the dialog box
choose your copied PM folder in the documents folder.

PM right now is at 5.0.2.b1
