Just for a clarification.
Parameter RAM is BIOS which parameter is needed before OS load, mostly
CPU communicating hardware.  You want to reset PRAM/NVRAM when your
peripheral such as display and/or I/O devices is acting weird.

Since WorldROM Mac (Tupper G3), PRAM has been replaced with OpenFirmware,
which also includes NVRAM.  Apple is still honoring Cmd+Opt+P+R to reset
OF.  However, if you know CUI for OF, you can reset it thoroughly.
