I recently had some disk problems which Disk Utility failed to fix. I did sort myself by starting up in "Safe Mode" - hold down the shift key until the spinning disk appears. This forces a proper disk repair to run so your machine may take a long time to start up. When it does, restart in the usual way to allow extensions to run. Maybe of help... -- david.gordon
