I've recently come across what might be considered a bug in the way
PowerMail handles sound notifications. It seems I've become one of the
ipod/itunes junkies, and now I want to play all of my purchased music
while stuff is going on... including PM usagae (which is nearly always
running).

The problem is that while I can control the sound output of all other
programs I use via the "Alert Volume" setting in the sound preferences
panel, PowerMail does not head that setting and plays it's sounds at full
volume ... which, if you have a Def Lepperd or Audioslave song cranked,
can be down right deafening.

I thought I'd pose this situation to the list here to get some feedback
to ctm, ala:

1. Since PM's notification sounds are basically alert sounds, should they
not obey the Alert Volume setting? (ie, is this a bug)

2. If not, should there be a volume slider for PM's sounds? (feature request)

I personally lean toward #1. Oh, and anyone with other observations,
suggestions on this please feel free to chime (haha) in.

PS: while there are still a few rough edges on PowerMail, I'm loving
using it ... and the "new" search feature continues to work great ... and
FAST! (yea!). I have had to reduce the size of my DB to keep window and
list updates at a reasonable rate, but my "backup" is just another PM set
I use for searching (and anyway... how often do I really want a match
from 1997 ?)

Now... if we could just get that preference to turn off double-clicking
URLs my day to day use of PM would have no major headaches ... even if
it's just a hidden "resource" preference somewhere! :)
