I, too, can confirm that several attachment links seemingly got broken after upgrading to PM5 beta, though the files are still in the attachments folder (which is set-up correctly in the preferences). This is why I asked for a function to manually re-attach "lost" attachments to messages in an earlier post. In the meantime, I had compacted my database and re-built indices - might this be casing the losing of the links? When I get the time, I'll check if my old PM4 database had those links broken already - I'll let you know what I find. I also tried to come up with a attachment-reattach script, but have gotten trapped in AppleScript intricacies so I cannot say if it would have worked. My idea was to completely replace a message's attachments list (which seems to be not r/o from the dictionary description) by a complete newly generated one - might this approach work at all?
