That's what I'm saying. Oddly, it is only that way on one of my PM e- mail accounts. All the others allow access. In fact, I have another e- mail client that has a checkbox saying "use default settings" which it picks up somewhere from the System. But that still avoids the question of where are the default settings stored. When I click on "Edit..." button it opens the .Mac preference pane, which has no visible settings for default SMTP server (and I don't have a .Mac account). In 10.2.x there was a Preference for network settings. Where is the SMTP setting in 10.3.x? --Ira
