Hello Jerome, >>Now I am wondering what the difference is between 'Rebuild Sort Indices' >>and 'Rebuild Index', also between 'Compact Mail, Address and Settings >>Databases' and 'Compact Database'. > >"Rebuild sort indices" from the First Aid dialog rebuilds the sort index >by date, subject etc that is used when you change the sort column. Thanks for the explanation. I have just discovered that, after using "Rebuild index" from the File/ Satabase menu, the mail message list in any of my folders will no longer resort when I click on a different column heading. The original column heading remains gray. I tried the usual first four fixes in the First Aid list which didn't help. Did another "Rebuild index" from the File/Satabase menu which didn't help either. Have I broken something? Regards, Frank -- Frank Mitchell, Scottsdale, Arizona
