Thanks for the explanation.

I have just discovered that, after using "Rebuild index" from the File/
Satabase menu, the mail message list in any of my folders will no longer
resort when I click on a different column heading. The original column
heading remains gray.

I tried the usual first four fixes in the First Aid list which didn't help.

Did another "Rebuild index" from the File/Satabase menu which didn't help
either.

Have I broken something?
