That is NOT what I said. So, I guess I must have stated my preferences
inadequately.

I want to set the default window position and size myself. From that
point on, I don't want the simple act of moving a window to override my
preferred default position. If I want the default position to change
permanently, then I want to go actively go into the preferences to do so
- not as a consequence of a one-time window move. That is definitely not
being forced to use it as someone else dictates.
