The point is that I might move a window to a position and size that is
appropriate for that particular moment, but don't expect the program to
default to that temporary usage. Moving one window for a few moments
should not be a command to change the default window position. You are
right, it's not a problem that is specific to PowerMail - other apps
annoy me with this as well. When I have time, and if the program allows
it, I create AppleScripts to make the annoyances a little less annoying.

I have some programs that allow me to set the default window size and
position for new documents and I REALLY appreciate this preference/
setting. When I manually move one window it is nice to know that my
default preferences have not been sabotaged by a momentary need for a
different size and position because the next new document will open in
the preferred location. For instance, there may be times when I need to
open three messages at once. So I position the windows tiled one under
another and only about two inches high to compare specific pieces of
text. When I'm done, I close the windows and get back to my regular
routine. But, within PM, new windows are now set two inches high and at
the bottom of the screen because the last window I closed was at the
bottom of the screen, so I now have to resize the window and close it so
PM will default to that size. I see this frequently in web browsers
(Safari included) after a page's Javascript creates a tiny window - when
I select a new URL, it is displayed in that tiny 3x3 window and I then
have to use an AppleScript to set the window to where I want it.

PM's window management might work for some, but for others, it would be
nice to have an option to lock in a default window size and position.
