It is normal. Indexing is done in two steps; the first step occurs when a
message is received, and the second step must be batched in some way for
performance reasons. We chose to perform the second step just before
performing a search, since it should not take a long time (a few
milliseconds per message to index, I think, maybe even less). So if you
have received thousands of messages since the last time you performed a
search, you can have a delay of a few seconds to prepare the index before
searching. What do you call "very slow"?
