My ethernet port died on my Powerbook a couple of weeks ago. It was a slow death where the connection to the cable modem kept slowing down. It got to the point where you are at, where the outgoing messages were not getting sent. I had to force quit PM (in OS X) a couple of times, but the message was still in the out tray. I think I switched the message from "waiting" to "draft" and then re-sent the message when I got a better connection.
-- See you, Steve Mayer If Webster wrote the first dictionary, where did he find the words? Thanks for your message. You said; >Hello all, > >Bell Sympatico's lone smtp server for my region of Canada (Montreal) has >been having a hard time of late and as a result has revealed a problem >with PowerMail, I think. > >The server has been taking upwards of 5 minutes to deliver a piece of >mail. As a result, I've seen three outcomes involving PowerMail: > >1) The message is delivered normally > >2) PM reports a delivery failure (acceptable response given the situation) > >3) The message is delivered but PM still thinks it is in the process of >sending it! > > >It is this last result that worries me. The consequence is that the >message can end up being sent several times, therefore I must manually >stop delivery and trash or file the outgoing copy. > >Any ideas Jerome, people? > >Many thanks in advance >-- >Tim Lapin >[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >
