Since several other people on this list, myself included, have no problem with integrating SpamSieve 2.x and PM 4.x the problem must be something poarticular to your installation. Have you tried reinstalling Spamsieve and recreating from scratch those filters that call the SS scripts?
Failing that, you could try contacting the author of Spamsieve, Michael Tsai, for advice, he's very helpful indeed.
