My 2 cents FWIF: I switched from Claris Emailer to Powermail early 2001, converting my database and addresses and kept up with the new releases of Powermail since. I encountered no unrecoverable errors in my database which is about 30,000 msgs (200 MB) I experiences two (bad formatted) HTML messages which caused trouble in my database which I could not access through Powermail, but I was able to isolate these and delete them. As it turned out, they were not accessible through other mail-clients (apart the one of M$) so this problem was a 'not-powermail-only' problem. I am using my mail client on both my desktop system and my powerbook and can synchronize the data without problems. In my 2,5 years of experience with pm I encountered one serious database problem which was easily fixed by a low level rebuild.
