I too worried about monolithic database problems vs the smaller and more manageable text based Eudora mailboxes. I have compacted my database a few times but only for size considerations. Like Eudora, "holes" left by deleted messages have to be dealt with. I admit that one anecdote does not a solid recommendation make so I would ask those who have databases in the 10,000 message range to comment.
