It seems that the multipart/alternative is related to the echo:

Here is the relevant part of the header from the other person who gives
me echos:

Message-id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
MIME-version: 1.0 (Apple Message framework v552)
X-Mailer: Apple Mail (2.552)
Content-type: multipart/alternative; boundary=Apple-Mail-88-974031998

Now, the question is, does this happen because of Mail or PowerMail? if
it is PowerMail, can I do anything in my settings to avoid it?

Marlyse caused electrons to hula in cyberspace with:

>>Here is part of that full header of that email:
>>>Content-type: multipart/alternative; boundary=Apple-Mail-2-949890648
>>and here is one from the person who never does the echo:
>>>Content-type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset=US-ASCII
