I cannot reproduce this. In my Powermail folder (this discussion group) are 5769 messages (OK, I have to do some cleaning up here...). View only (subject=applescript) returns 122 messages. 'Find by content' in selected folder returns 1000 messages (case insensitive) Search time about 3 seconds
