I have the same problem. I do the following: Force-quit PowerMail (cmd-opt-esc etc.) Open PowerMail again. Move the offending message to Mail Trash without trying to open it. When you empty the trash, the message will be deleted from the data base. I, too, would like to know whether there's a better way.
