One very, very useful feature in Claris E-Mailer was the ability to change the name (subject line) of a received e-mail. In a long-lived thread of e-mail, the flow of information may wander between different aspects of the original subject. During the course of "Re: Useful Additions to PowerMail", there might be some really great information that is slightly off-topic. You could red-label it, like I do now, but as time passes and red-labels begin to multiply, the importance of that one message becomes lost. However in Claris, you could change the subject line so, as time passed, you could identify that message and its contents without opening and scanning all the red-tagged e-mails. I mean, what does "Re: Useful Additions to PowerMail" really mean? Zip, in the long run. But if one of them was renamed "Mail Filters Setup" or "How to: Mail Filters", you'd know exactly what was in the file and how to quickly find it. If you were a systematic fellow, by changing e-mail subject lines, you could collect, in affect, an antidotal PowerMail tutorial: "PM: Mail Filters"; "PM: Attachment Problems"; "PM: Preference Options"; PM: Database Solutions"; and dump the other 32 "Re: Useful Additions to PowerMail" messages that aren't important. The point of an e-mail list like this one is to help each other, ask questions, and learn how other members have solved similar problems. Isn't this a great way to accumulate, rather than to bury, useful information? Which would you rather see when you opened your PowerMail folder?
