Seth,

We try to limit outside RCAs. We have a site procedure that limits the
amount of sealands on site to 5 during non-outage periods and 15 during
outage periods but are being pushed to be the same as the rest of the
fleet. Our corporate procedure permits 15 all the time. We do not
normally permit sealands to be opened outside but if it is absolutely
necessary, and weather permits, then RP will set up a SOP and frisker.
After egress from the seavan workers will immediately go to the Aux Bldg
and use PCM and PM-7.

Palo Verde requests information on the following:

1. Does your facility have outside storage areas posted RCA:
"Radiologically Controlled Areas"?

a. If yes, what type of work or activities are allowed in these
areas, (e.g., container opening and filling, storage only, etc)?

b. If yes, do you require hand or foot monitoring when exiting
buildings to access these areas?

Please forward all answers to Terrance Dickinson @ [email protected] or
(623) 393-5491.

Thanks, Seth
